High Tide Studios, LLC ("High Tide," "we," "us") is based in South Carolina and operates playyargh.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, order Yargh!, contact us, subscribe to updates, or participate in playtesting.

Information you provide

Depending on how you use the site, we collect your name, email address, billing and shipping details, order information, account information, messages, and playtest feedback. Reviews submitted for public display may include a display name, rating, and review text. Please avoid including private information in public reviews or information about other people without their permission.

Payment information

Payment details are handled through the payment services offered at checkout. We receive transaction information needed to process orders, provide support, and handle refunds. Please do not send payment-card details through contact forms, email, or chat.

Website information and cookies

Our website and service providers may process information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, and interactions with the site. Cookies and similar technologies support shopping carts, accounts, security, website performance, and measurement.

Our site uses GoDaddy's website services, including traffic and performance measurement. The cookie notice allows you to accept website-traffic tracking. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect shopping carts, sign-in, or other functions. Embedded services may process information under their own privacy policies.

Pirate-name generator

The current name generator uses the optional name you enter within the page to create a pirate name. The generator does not submit that name to us. You can use a nickname or leave the field blank. The surrounding website and its providers may still process the website information described above.

How we use information

We use information to process and fulfill orders; send receipts, shipment updates, and preorder notices; maintain accounts; answer questions; administer playtesting; improve our games and website; send marketing emails when you subscribe; prevent fraud and misuse; and meet legal and recordkeeping obligations.

When information is shared

We share information with service providers as needed to operate the business, including website hosting and commerce, payment processing, shipping, email, customer support, reviews, and playtest forms. Website features include GoDaddy services, Re:amaze chat, Yotpo reviews, and Google reCAPTCHA. If you choose to use a linked or embedded third-party form or service, information you submit is also handled by that provider under its privacy policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect people and our rights, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations. Reviews you submit for public display may be visible to other visitors.

Email preferences and privacy requests

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails. We may still send messages needed to administer your orders or respond to your requests.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact privacy@hightidestudios.co. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights, including portability, objection, restriction, appeal, or opting out of particular uses. You may contact us at the same address about those rights or to appeal our response. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some records must be retained for legal, transaction, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

How long we keep information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. For order records, this includes fulfillment, returns, tax and accounting requirements, and disputes. For accounts, subscriptions, support messages, and playtest feedback, we consider whether the account or relationship remains active, whether the information is still needed to provide the service or improve the game, and applicable legal requirements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to those requirements.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, storage system, or transmission method can guarantee complete security. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information through contact forms or chat.

Children and family playtesting

Playtesting registration must be completed by an adult. Parents and guardians should submit feedback on behalf of participating children and avoid including children's names, email addresses, photos, or other identifying information. General feedback about the family's game experience is welcome.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact privacy@hightidestudios.co so we can investigate and address it, including deletion where appropriate. Please describe the submission without sending additional sensitive information about the child.

Where information is processed

High Tide is based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or applicable requirements. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
